What is Alpha?

This Alpha course is for anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. People of all ages are welcome.
As well as learning about the Christian faith it is an opportunity to meet other people, and make new friends.
Small groups (depending on numbers present) give you a chance to discuss issues raised during the talks and many others besides.
Alpha is a place where no question is regarded as too simple or too difficult.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for everyone! It is particularly designed for people who want to find out more about Christian faith and are looking for answers to some of the big life-issues.

What happens at Alpha?

We’ll have a short introduction to a particular question and then engage in a wide-ranging discussion in a smaller group (depending on the number present) of that question and many others. The evening will begin at 8 pm and end by 10 pm.

Programme

During the Alpha Course, we will look at questions such as, “Who is Jesus?”, “Why did Jesus die?”, “What about the Bible?”, “Why pray?” and a number of others. Of course, the most important questions are the ones you will have. There will be plenty of room to discuss those.
There will be an introductory evening on Tuesday 29th September and the course will end on 8th December—we may take a one week break during half term in October.

Alpha Awayday

The course will include one Saturday towards the end of the course to be held close to Chippenham. As well as some time spent eating together, sessions will include looking at questions about how God works in our lives through the Holy Spirit. These sessions are particularly important.

What will it cost?

There is no charge for the Alpha course. You will need to buy your own drinks. There will be a charge of approx. £25 per person for the awayday—details to be supplied during the course.
